Why metal primers important to prevent corrosion?
Primers are fist defense between substrate and topcoat. They should have excellent adhesion, highest level of corrosion protection and good bonding with top layer.
What is two coat system?
With advancement in silicon based technology, one can use primer followed by top coat, with reduced thickness from conventional thickness of 280 micron to 230 micron, in two different layer. This system is called as two coat system. Multicoat manufactures SilikoPox series as two coat system.
What is so critical about surface preparation?
Proper surface preparation is key to durable corrosion protection. Good mechanical adhesion is achieve only with proper creation of surface profile, which enhances bond strength of primer and top coats.
