Power Generation

Traditionally, thermal power plants are also called combustion power plants and they operate with energy produced by a steam boiler fuelled by coal, natural gas, heating oil, as well as by biomass. The steam activates a turbine which, in turn, drives an alternator to produce electricity. Heat resistant coatings are widely used on refineries, petrochemical plants, pipeline and power plants.

The need for insulation in thermal power plants

The internal surfaces  are exposed to the highly corrosive environment created by the process including high humidity, elevated temperatures, acidity, chlorides , chemical and physical abrasion.

Explore the desired protective coating products for power plants  below.

Different sectors of power generation

For Coal fired power plants we offer tailored coatings for protection of boilers and specialty coatings for protection of FGDs.
• For Gas fired power plants we have developed special coatings for air intakes and temperature resistant coatings.
• For Hydro power plants we deliver special coatings to protect water intakes and have an extensive range of coatings to protect concrete.

Multipox MetaPrime ZR-1201 (Earlier ZR1100)
It is an epoxy based two component zinc rich primer which contains 80% zinc in dry film. It is typically used for harsh conditions.
Heat resistant paints are widely used on refineries, petrochemical plants, pipeline and power plants. Multicoat provides a "HEATSHIELD Series" which covers not only a wide range of temperatures from -185°C to 1650°C but also protects from CUI (Corrosion Under Insulation) . HEATSHIELD Series protects your assets from corrosion under severe temperature conditions.
MULTICOAT® HEATSHIELD® S810 is suitable for structural steel and piping to be exposed to corrosive and high temperature environments
